Description
This is the second of a series of photographs of a stainless steel public sculpture by Taiwanese artist Yuyu Yang. The polished surfaces act as mirrors and create fascinating photographic possibilities.
Installed in 1973 and commissioned by architect I. M. Pei, the structure is located on Water Street in the Financial District of Manhattan in front of Oriental Oversees Building at 88 Pine Street.
Yuyu Yang commented on his own work: "My sculptures in general, and stainless steel sculptures in particular, harmonize man and his environment spiritually, mentally and physically; this is why I call my sculptures lifescapes instead of environmental sculptures."

As per the artist, "lifescapes" - and you've shown exactly how his sculpture fits into daily life in the city, Sarah - very nice done! :)
